One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
One night I dreamed a dream.
As I was walking along the beach with my Lord.
Across the dark sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene, I noticed two sets of footprints in the sand,
One belonging to me and one to my Lord.
After the last scene of my life flashed before me,
I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.
This really troubled me, so I asked the Lord about it.
“Lord, you said once I decided to follow you,
You’d walk with me all the way.
But I noticed that during the saddest and most troublesome times of my life,
there was only one set of footprints.
I don’t understand why, when I needed You the most, You would leave me.”
He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”
Last week, we took the youth and children from Crosswell First Baptist Church to Garden City Beach. Every day we woke up for breakfast and devotion, prayer time and of course beach time before starting our days.
After a long day of fun in the sun and mission projects, we would gather together at night for prayer and Bible Study. Each night, we focused on what God was doing in our lives and the lives of others. It was such a blessing to hear kids of all ages talk about the blessings God was showing them each day.
On the first day, it was a little rainy and cold so we delivered cookies to the Fire Department and Police Station and showed them God’s love by thanking them for their service. The firemen had just gotten back from a total loss fire when we arrived so you can imagine how tired they all were. To see them smile when we arrived was worth it all.
The second day we delivered frisbees on the beach to children and their families. Each frisbee had the plan of salvation on the back. One by one, we handed frisbees to the kids and watched them flip them over and read God’s word.
We may never know how many lives we touched but we will always know that God used this group to share His word with others.
I challenge you to step out of your comfort zone, share God’s word with others, and be kind to those around you. You never know much of a blessing you can be!
The last night, we read “Footprints in the sand” and studied each line. The last part says,
“I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that at many times along the path of my life,
especially at the very lowest and saddest times,
there was only one set of footprints.”
“He whispered, “My precious child, I love you and will never leave you
Never, ever, during your trials and testings.
When you saw only one set of footprints,
It was then that I carried you.”
When you are struggling in life and feel like God is nowhere near, know that He is carrying you through with love and Grace. Hold fast to His promises, and know that He will never leave your side.
May God Bless you and Show you His Grace every day!
Beautiful post! May God bless you always as you spread His love and peace to others! When you and Dustin get to Heaven, it is going to be so wonderful when God shows you all the lives you two have impacted for Him. :)!
