Will I ever be happy again?
Life is full of ups and downs. One day you’re on top of the world living it up with your friends then the next day you may be struggling to get out of bed. This is life. It’s not easy, but we have hope because we know it’s only temporary. This is not our home. Our hope and our home is in Jesus Christ.
“For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.” Hebrews 13:14
There may be a time in your life when you’ll wonder, “Will I ever be happy again?” When times like this hit, remember how blessed the Lord wants you to be.
The word “blessed” means “happy.” When you read through the scripture below replace the word blessed with happy and you’ll see how God intended for you to be happy. When you put your trust in His hands, you will find true happiness.
“5 When Jesus saw the crowds, He went up on the mountain; and after He sat down, His disciples came to Him. 2 He opened His mouth and began to teach them, saying,
3 “Blessed (happy) are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. (poor in spirit = not spiritually arrogant)
4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the gentle, for they shall inherit the earth. (gentle = humble, kind)
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied. (Happy are those that desire to be like Christ)
7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
10 “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
Matthew 5:1-12
Today I challenge you to be blessed. Be happy and show the world our God!
May God Bless you and show you His Grace every day!
